new_releases Accepted at hazardous waste collection sites
• All containers must be 8 gallons or less. Limit 5 tanks per trip.
• Propane tanks larger than 8 gallons can be returned to the manufacturer or to a Blue Rhino location.
• Limit 5 tanks or cylinders for small propane/butane tanks, personal oxygen tanks, or any compressed gas cylinder under 2 feet in length.
Small gas canisters, such as camping canisters, can go in the garbage if they are empty. Empty or partially filled tanks, 8 gallons or less, can be taken to a household hazardous waste facility. King County Solid Waste transfer stations do not accept propane tanks of any size.
